Charles M. Drummond, 87, of Sioux City died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at Casa de Paz Nursing Home following a brief illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Trimble United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Carol James officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery, with a military flag presentation conducted by American Legion Monahan Post 64. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. Drummond was born Oct. 31, 1916, in Sioux City, the son of William and Ida (Schipper) Drummond.

He married Helen Griffin on Oct. 5, 1940, in Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in Europe. He worked for D.K. Baxter Dealership for 24 years, then for Gibson Appliance for many years. Mrs. Drummond passed away Oct. 17, 1983, in Sioux City.

He was a member of Trimble United Methodist Church, American Legion Monahan Post 64 and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by a son and his wife, Stuart and Linda Drummond of Sioux City; and three sisters, Helen Bunten of Newton, Iowa, Mildred Mathisen of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Lois and her husband, John Frame of Portage, Ind.

He also was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Iwerks; and three brothers, Douglas, Sheldon and Wilber.
