Keith W. Hansen, 75, of Sioux City died Monday, February 7, 2000, at the Embassy Rehab and Care Center in Sergeant Bluff.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Sheryl K. Ashley officiating. Burial is in Memorial Cemetery, Le Mars, Iowa. Visitation is 4 to 8:30 p.m. today, with the family present 4 to 8 p.m. at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Mr. Hansen was born January 31, 1925, in Sioux City, the son of Harold and Beulah (Betts) Hansen. He attended school in Huron, S.D. and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, receiving advanced and post training with the Air Corps for his college degree.

He married Janet Lawler in 1948. She died in July 1965, in Sioux City. He married Dorothy Johns on September 2, 1966, in Sioux City.

He worked as a firefighter with the U.S. Air Force for 25 years, managed the Sioux City Humane Society for two years and dispatched for Obrich Trucking Co.

He belonged to Grace United Methodist Church and United Methodist Men, served on the board of trustees and as church usher, becoming the first man at Grace United Methodist Church to receive special recognition from the United Methodist Women.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Julee Finstad of Sioux City; two sons, David Finstad of Racine, Wis. And Kevin Finstad and his wife, Annelle of Sioux City; two sisters, Pat Christensen of Inwood, and Ruthie and her husband, John McMullen of Homeland, California; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, David Hansen.

Pallbearers will be Ed Niemeyer, Dean Glendenning, Homer De Witt, Arvin Daniels, Lonnie Hohl and Gary Maxfield.
