MOVILLE, Iowa -- Georgia M. Davis, 88, of Moville died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Moville Evangelical Church, with the Rev. Ken Brakefield officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m., at Christy-Smith Mc Culloch Chapel in Moville.

Georgia M. Davis was born March 24, 1914 in Artesian, Ark., the daughter of Horace "Edgar" and Indiana "Annie" (Caplinger) Reynolds. She was raised in the Hampton, Ark. area, graduated from Hampton High School and then attended a business college in Arkansas.

She married Keith Davis on Jan. 20, 1936 in Hampton. The couple moved to the Moville area shortly after their marriage, living there for many years. Georgia owned and operated the Quick Lunch, City Cafe, Highway 20 Cafe and also operated Spike's Tap while he was in the service. She had also cooked at the Woodbury Central High School in Moville and the Methodist Hospital in Sioux City. The couple also operated the American Legion lunch stand at the Woodbury County Fair for several years. They also lived in Denison and Carroll, Iowa, where Georgia had operated restaurants. The couple spent their winters in Bella Vista, Ark. for several years and spent their summers operating the New Inn at Okoboji. Upon retiring in 1986, they lived in Bella Vista. The couple moved back to Moville in 1995.

Georgia was a member of the Legion Auxiliary and the Moville Evangelical Church. She loved to cook and fish but her first love was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, traveling to visit them many times.

Survivors include her husband, Keith of Moville, two daughters, Gloria and her husband, Jon Wahlberg, also of Moville, and Sharon and her husband, Armin "Buzz" Groom, of Streator, Ill.; a son, Terry and his wife, Mirinda Davis, of Harrisburg, Pa.; six grandchildren, Shelly Donahue of Colorado, Scott and his wife, Deanne Groom, also of Colorado, Suzzette and her husband, George Kostjal, of Pennsylvania, Nikole Davis of Georgia, Mundi Wahlberg of Colorado and Matt and his wife, Heather Wahlberg, of Arizona; five great-grandchildren, Lindsey Donahue, Samuel Donahue, Blakeley Kostjal, David and his wife, Mariyam Schumaker, and Chris and his wife, Marcia Schumaker; two great-great-grandchildren, Trae and Alexis Schumaker; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Scott Groom, Shelly Donahue, Mundi Wahlberg, Matthew Wahlberg, Suzzette Kostjal and Nikole Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Davis, Rob Davis, Cathy Lobdell, Connie Balcer, Bob Hanneman, Gary Zitzlsperger and Wes Roescke.

Memorials in Georgia's name may be made in care of the family.
