Funeral services for Jerry Keating, 55, 1124 Hill Avenue, a dormer conductor on the Great Northern railroad, who died Monday in a hospital after an illness of several years, will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Rev. Newman Flanagan will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery.

The Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 8 o’clock tonight at the O’Toole-Gunn Funeral Home.

Mr. Keating was born December 16, 1889, in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a resident of Sioux City for nearly 50 years. He was advanced to a conductor’s rank in 1915.

A veteran of World War I, Mr. Keating served two years in France and was engaged in helping direct the transportation of troop trains. He retired from railroad service in 1942.

Mr. Keating was a member of Epiphany Council, K. of C., and the Order of Railroad Conductors.

Surviving are the widow, Martha, a daughter, Alice; a son, Jerry, Jr. all at home; and a sister, Mrs. J.E. Anderson of Seattle, Washington.
