Sarah E. Francis was born near Holly Springs, Iowa, December 25th 1879 and has been living in that vicinity all her life. On March 5th 1902, she was married to John E. Arnold. To this union two sons were born.

She died April 14, 1917.

Her husband and two sons, Lloyd and George, her parents and six sisters and nine brothers mourn her departure.

She was a kind and loving wife, a devoted mother and friend. She cultivated a naturally sociable and cheerful disposition; was energetic and always ready to do her part in making a home and a neighborhood worthwhile.

Years ago she became a Christian, uniting with the congregation of Christians at the Springs.

Tho a gloomy day with very muddy roads more than three hundred gathered to pay their respects at her funeral in the home church. The writer feels that he never used the text of his sermon more fitting than at this time—John 11:26—“Who soever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die.”

Funeral services were held on Monday, and the body interred in the Holly Springs Cemetery.
