SLOAN, Iowa -- Roger Kutzler, 70, of Sergeant Bluff, formerly of Sloan, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at Embassy Care Center in Sergeant Bluff.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Skien Lutheran Church in Albaton, Iowa, with the Rev. Lil Johnston officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Roger was born Jan. 14, 1937, in Sioux City, the son of Marwin "Muff" and Lorraine (Dahl) Kutzler. He was raised on his parents' farm in Albaton and graduated from Sloan High School in 1955.

He spent some time farming and later was an over-the-road truck driver, traveling coast to coast until his retirement.

He was a lifelong member of Skien Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and had an avid interest in remote-controlled boats and airplanes.

Survivors include a daughter, Kristi; a son, Scott; two brothers, Marion and his wife, Sherry of Sloan and Rodney of Sloan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant daughter, Sandra.
