SIOUX CITY | David "Dave" J. Miller, 55, of Sioux City, formerly of Ames, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016, from heart-related issues.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the American Legion, 4021 Floyd Blvd., in Sioux City. Visitation with the family will be 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the American Legion. Flowers may be delivered to Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Dave was born on May 4, 1961, to Terry and Joleen Miller. He grew up in Ames before he moved to Sioux City where he met and married Laurie Biggerstaff on Sept. 28, 1991. Dave was blessed with eight children and was a loving husband, father, son, and faithful friend.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 64. He loved to play golf, watch movies, and enjoyed family game nights including teaching his kids and grandkids how to play cribbage. He loved to travel and visited almost every state and several countries over the years.

Survivors include his wife, Laurie Miller of Sioux City; children, Joshua (Keesha) Webster of Boone, Iowa, JoAnna (Micky) Scott of Urbandale, Iowa, Ashley (Ronald) Lookingbill of Woodward, Okla., Theresa (Eric) Edwards of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Rachel Miller (fiance, Ryan Goetz) of Ponca, Neb., and Taylor Miller of Sioux City; seven grandchildren; parents, Terry and Joleen Miller of Ankeny, Iowa; brothers, Michael (Tammy) Miller of Ankeny, and Thomas Miller of Ankeny; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; and two infant daughters.
