SIOUX CITY | Thomas A. Erickson, 45, of Sioux City passed away Monday, May 23, 2016, in Sioux City.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave., with the Rev. BJ Van Kalsbeek officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today, with family present 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Tom was born on Nov. 30, 1970, in Sioux City, the son of Arthur and Denelda (Juergens) Erickson. He graduated from East High School in 1989.

Tom married Misty Johnson on Aug. 7, 1999, in McCook Lake, S.D. They lived in Kansas City for 12 years then moved back to Sioux City. Tom worked for various construction companies while living in Kansas City and Sioux City.

Tom loved sports, and was an avid Kansas City Royals fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially playing ball with his son and watching him play hockey. Tom was a member of AA and had a strong support group of friends that helped him throughout the years.

Survivors include his wife, Misty of Sioux City; their son, Joseph at home; daughter, Addy (Alan) Bottjen of Bellevue, Neb.; siblings, Kenneth (Susan) Erickson of Merrill, Iowa, Daniel (Kathy) Erickson of Sergeant Bluff, Randall (Carla) Erickson of Sioux City, Patricia (Gary) Barkley of Kansas City, Mo., Kathleen Nissen of Sergeant Bluff, and Robert (Kristine) Erickson of Sergeant Bluff; a brother-in-law, Jim Hollins of Sioux City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Joan Hollins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
