Donald LeRoy Hanner, 64, of Norfolk, Nebraska, died Thursday, June 2, 2016 in Norfolk.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Thomas Cackler officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa, at a later date. Visitation will be held 9:00 A.M. until service time Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Donald LeRoy was born September 6, 1951 in Sioux City, Iowa, son of Melvin and Bonnie (Beauchene) Hanner. He grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1969. Following graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Maine for three years.

He worked as an over the road truck driver for many years.

Survivors include four daughters, Nichole and Misty of Wisconsin, Amber of Council Bluffs, IA, and Candice of Salt Lake City, UT; his parents, Melvin and Bonnie Hanner of Onawa, IA; six siblings, Dorothy Hull of Norfolk, NE, Lynette (David) Cackler of Mondamin, IA, Teri (Jerry) Roberts of Norfolk, NE, Larry Hanner of Sergeant Bluff, IA, Chris (Mary Beth) Hanner of Sioux City, IA, and Scott (Michelle) Hanner of Onawa, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Julie Ann Hanner.
