Ida Grace Simmon, daughter of William and Mary Ann Cruzan, was born November 22, 1878, at Denison, Iowa, and died Saturday, January 20, 1968, at a Sioux City hospital, having reached the age of 89 years, one month, and 29 days. She was married to Henry P. Simmon on February 16, 1897, at Deloit, Iowa. After their marriage they moved to the farm near Oto where she spent the remainder of her life. Mr. Simmon died in 1950.

She was a member of the Methodist Church for 75 years and of the Peiro Bethel Methodist Church for over 65 years. She was also a life member of the Bethel W.S.C.S.

She is survived by three daughters, Miss Ruth Simmon, Miss Faith Simmon, and Mrs. Delmer (Fern) Willman all of Oto; one son, Henry Loyal Simmon of Storm Lake; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the United Church of Christ in Rodney at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 1968, with the Rev. Carl Jensen officiating. Interment was in the Bethel Grant Township Cemetery near Anthon under the direction of the Willman Funeral Home of Rodney.

Pallbearers were: Millard Allman, Artin Riddle, Victor Moore, Clifford Hess, John Walsh and Robert Phillips
