Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Anthon Methodist Church for Irvin H. Malcom of Mapleton, 75, who died Tuesday, September 11, 1956, after suffering a heart attack. Rev. M.M. Schaper officiated at the service.

Pallbearers were six nephews: Stuart Harshfield, Dale Harshfield, and Gordon Behrens, of Sioux City, Maurice Yotter of Luverne, Minnesota, Malcom Behrens and Dean Malcom of Westfield, Iowa.

Burial was in the Bethel-Peiro Cemetery under direction of Hudgel funeral home.

Irvin Howard Malcom, son of Duncan and Eliza [Palmer] Malcom, was born March 23, 1881, at Avoca, Iowa. He married Roxey Lyons February 20, 1907. Mrs. Malcom died in 1933 and a daughter, Doris, in 1951. He spent the last twelve years of his life at Mapleton. Prior to that he had lived in the Anthon and Oto communities.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. W.R. Buck of Chicago and Mrs. Frank Adams of Ute; one son, Darrell of St. Paul, Minnesota; four sisters, Mrs. Robert Grier of Anthon; Mrs. John Behrens of Westfield, Iowa; Mrs. Walter Harshfield of Sioux City and Mrs. Sara Yotter of Annandale, Minnesota; three brothers, Albert of Anthon, Robert of Glendale, California, and Melvin of Richville, Minnesota; and eleven grandchildren.
