Mr. Malcom passed away there May 30, 1929, but his widow continued to reside in Moville until April 1943 when her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grier of Kingsley, moved onto the old home farm west of town and Mrs. Malcom came to stay with them and pass the remainder of a full life on the place where her happiest years had been spent.

For many years, as long as her health permitted, Mrs. Malcom was known for her beautiful flowers, which won her many a prize at Woodbury County fairs and praise from all who saw them. It seemed she possessed that rare gift of making things grow.
