Funeral services for Albert "Jack" Malcom, 82, a longtime resident of the Anthon community who died Sunday night at a Sioux City hospital after an illness of several months were held this afternoon (Wednesday) at the Methodist Church in Anthon. Rev. Merle Benson officiated. Burial was in the Bethel-Peiro Cemetery under direction of Walter Funeral Home of Anthon.

Mr. Malcom was born March 13, 1879, at Avoca. He came to Woodbury County in 1882 with his parents who settled in the Anthon community. He resided at Moville for 18 years but in 1942, he returned to Anthon where he lived at the farm home of his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grier.

Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Grier of Anthon, Mrs. John Behrens and Mrs. Walter Harshfield, both of Sioux City, and Mrs. Sara Yotter of Annandale, Minnesota; and two brothers, Robert Malcom of Corona, California, and M.A. Malcom of Richville, Minnesota.
