SIOUX CITY | Genevieve R. Jacobs, 86, of Decorah, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, passed on to heaven on Friday, April 22, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, at Aase Haugen Senior Services in Decorah.

The rite of cremation has been accorded following her wishes. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Decorah Lutheran Church in Decorah, Iowa, with the Revs. David Sorenson and Charis Combs-Lay officiating. Private family inurnment will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sioux City. Visitation with the family will begin 10 a.m. Saturday, one hour before the service, at the church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, George; sons, George (Deb) Hunnel of Rosemount, Minn., and Gary (Dannette) Hunnel of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; daughter, Jaclyn (Keith) Vollstedt of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; stepson, Mark (Pat) Jacobs of Bettendorf, Iowa; stepdaughter, Jody (Keith) Forde of Decorah; daughter-in-law, Susan (Ray) Sherman of Dakota Dunes; her beloved 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; along with nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to WMC Hospice, 901 Montgomery Street, Decorah, IA 52101 or Aase Haugen Senior Services, 4 Ohio Street, Decorah, IA 52101.
