Kenneth W. Jorgensen, 82, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at Countryside Retirement Home in Sioux City.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Morningside Lutheran Church E.L.C.A. in Sioux City, with the Rev. Kevin Lee officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the U.S. Army Reserves. Arrangements are being handled by Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel.

Kenneth was born Feb. 23, 1921, in Sioux City, the son of Claus and Marie (Christensen) Jorgensen. He was raised in the Sioux City area and graduated from East High School in 1940. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945.

He married Ruth J. Mjoen on Oct. 16, 1948, in Sioux City. She passed away Dec. 18, 2001, in Sioux City. Following the war, he worked at Sioux Tools for 38 years, retiring in 1984.

He was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church E.L.C.A., Abu Bekr Shrine, Sioux City Consistory, Triangle Masonic Lodge 643 A.F. & A.M., and American Legion Post 64.

Survivors include a daughter, Paula Todd of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Ronald and Kathy Jorgensen of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Aaron Todd, Kelli Todd, Corey Jorgensen and Eric Jorgensen; two brothers, Orval and Marlow Jorgensen, both of Sioux City; and a sister, Anna Washburn of Sioux City.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clarence; and a sister, Margaret.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Memorial in his name may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
