Pearl C. Larson, 92, of Sioux City died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at Countryside Retirement Center following a brief illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel with the Revs. Kevin Lee and John Hantla officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Miss Larson was born March 19, 1909, in Sioux City, the daughter of Louis and Olava (Grindberg) Larson. She attended Sioux City schools. She received her bachelor of arts degree from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, and her masters in education degree from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. She lived most of her life in Sioux City. She taught school in Sinai and Canton, S.D., before moving back to Sioux City, where she taught at Woodrow Elementary School, East Junior High School and East High School. She retired in 1975. She was a WAC veteran of World War II.

She was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, National Honor Society and Adventure Club. She loved to travel and had taken trips all over the world. She loved to listen to music.

Survivors include four sisters, Helen Wellwood, Alice and her husband, Charles Perry, Clarice and her husband, Bennett Aust, all of Sioux City, and Ruth Healy of St. Paul, Minn.; a special friend, Gwen Bailey of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Luther Larson.

Memorials in her name may be sent in care of the family.
