Patricia A. Doren of Ponca, NE went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2016 while surrounded by her family at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, April 22, 2016 at United Methodist Church in Ponca, NE with Rev. Lorri Kentner officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, IA. Visitation with the family present will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca, NE.

Patricia was born on November 8, 1934 in Bristol, SD to Glen and Vesta (Wise) Stephenson. They moved to Sioux City, IA in 1935, where she grew up. She attended East High School and finished her senior year in 1955. Patricia married Richard L. Doren on October 5, 1956. They moved to Ponca in 1959, where her husband operated Doren Construction and D & D Trucking Co. She worked at IBP for 8 years and then owned and managed the Silver Spur Cafe in Ponca for 12 years.

Pat was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ponca. She was also a member of the Ponca American Legion Auxiliary. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She loved having family get-togethers and playing cards and games. She also enjoyed working in the yard, growing flowers and baking, and always had cookies for her family and coffee visitors.

Survivors include 5 children, Carole (Walter) Beermann of Aurora, CO, Kathryn (Dennis) Templeman of Ponca, NE, Starla Becker of Carroll, IA, Valorie Anderson of Ponca, NE, and Tricia Arnold of Carroll, IA; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, Richard (Vivian) Stephenson of The Villages, FL; sister-in-law, Deanna (Junior) Lovell; brothers-in-law, Gaylord (Eleanor) Doren and Craig (Barb) Doren; and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Vesta Stephenson; her husband, Richard Doren in 2004; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clyde and Virginia Doren.
