SIOUX CITY | John Curry, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016, at his home in Riverside, Calif., after a long battle with heart disease.

Private graveside services will be at a later date in National Cemetery, Riverside.

John was born on Feb. 13, 1926, to Charles and Mary Curry of Sioux City. John resided in Sioux City until the age of 18, when he joined the armed services.

John is survived by his wife, Wilma; his sons, Jimmy of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Michael of Riverside; two stepchildren, Ronald of Colorado, and Kathleen "K.C." of Iowa; a sister, Lucy; three brothers, Frank of Sioux City, Bob of Alabama, and Terry of Colorado; four grandsons; seven granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald.
