SIOUX CITY | Elizabeth "Libby" Smith, 76, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Services will be noon Friday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Libby was born on Oct. 21, 1939, in Etoile, Ky., to Clifford and Mary (Brown) Moore. She moved to Sioux City in 1986 and started working as a vocational instructor and later as a director at Northstar Services until her retirement.

Libby enjoyed playing bingo, singing, getting her nails done, and making annual trips to Kentucky to visit her family and friends. Libby especially loved country music, Merle Haggard was her favorite. She followed him her whole life, even following him to Heaven.

Those left to honor her memory include her significant other of 28 years, Edward Dawdy of Sioux City; his children, Eddie, Mike, John, and Vicki; her children, Jim Lucas of South Sioux City, Kimberly Lucas of Sioux City, Rita (Scott) Taylor of Sioux City, Christian Bowder of Sioux City, and Jason (Stephanie) Bowder of Sioux City; grandchildren, Jennifer, J.R., Zack, Jessica, Jaclyn, Lindsey, Taran, Gabby, Jesse, Jaxon, and Jaci; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ida, Dorothy, and Virginia; and sisters-in-law, Nancy and Hazel.

She is preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Jacqueline; brothers, William, Paul and Cecil; sister, Emma Dean; and sister-in-law, Florence Moore.

Memorials may be made to the family.
