Mrs. John W Teter

Funeral Services for Mrs. John W. Teter, 70, of Cedar Falls, the former Edna Rhoads and former Woodbury County home demonstration agent, were held Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Rev. David R. Bluhm of the Religious Department of State College of Iowa, at Cedar Falls, officiated. Burial was in the Municipal Cemetery at Ames.

Mrs. Teter died Jan. 13, at a hospital in Cedar Falls.

She was home demonstration agent in the early days of the Woodbury County Extension Service. She was born October 22, 1896, at Bedford, Iowa, where she resided until graduation from high school. She received a master’s degree from Iowa State College at Ames after which she taught high school home economics before coming to Woodbury County.

When leaving Woodbury County she returned to Iowa State College at Ames as an instructor in the Applied Art Department.

She was married to Mr. Teter in Ames. Later they moved to Cedar Falls.

Groups of which she was a member include World Council of Churches, American Association of University Women, Daughters of the American Revolution and Creative Writers.

Survivors include the widower, a son, Donald of Waterloo, and one grandson.
