SIOUX CITY | Doreen Ann Burke, 64, of Avondale, Ariz., formerly of Sioux City, was found deceased on Feb. 19, 2016, in Avondale.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016, at the Morningside Lutheran Church, 700 South Martha Street, in Sioux City, with the Rev. Darrin Vick, officiating. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Danbury Catholic Cemetery, Danbury, Iowa, with the Rev. Kevin Freese officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton and Danbury. The family is receiving condolences online at www.armstrongfuneral.com.

Doreen Ann Burke was born in Sioux City, on Jan. 8, 1952, the daughter of Lawrence and Delores Dickens. She graduated from East High School in Sioux City.

On March 10, 1970, Doreen married Michael "Jim" Burke in Elk Point, S.D. She lived and worked in the Sioux City area, prior to moving to Arizona in 1980. They had one child, Jamie Michelle. Jim preceded Doreen in death in 1995. She worked in the mortgage industry prior to her retirement.

Survivors include her daughter, Jamie; son-in-law, Kyle; granddaughters, Lexi and Allie, all of Prescott, Ariz.; one sister, Barbara (Jim) Hennessey of Vermillion, S.D.; two brothers, Chuck (Kay) Dickens of Fort Collins, Colo., and Larry (Sheryl) Dickens of Dakota Dunes; four nieces; and two nephews.

Along with her husband, Jim, Doreen was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Delores Dickens; and his nephew, Terry Hennessey.
