16 October 2014SIOUX CITY | Eleanor Jean (Foster) McGaffin of Sioux City passed away Oct. 11, 2014, in Sioux City
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Sunrise Retirement Community Chapel in Sioux City.
Eleanor Jean was born on April 23, 1927, in Adams County, Iowa. Eleanor "Ellie" was a lifelong Iowa resident, spending her last years in Sioux City, where she made many friends.
She married Donald Dean "Pete" McGaffin in 1946. They enjoyed life together in Corning, Minburn and Winterset, Iowa, until his death in 2009.
She loved her family and friends, and was known for her youthful spirit and sense of humor. She was also known for her cooking, sewing, playing cards and sharing love and laughter.
She is survived by her brother, Lowell Foster; sons, Alan (Terri) and Jim (Linda Jo); grandchildren, Mason (Jessie), Demelza, and Graham (Emily); a niece, Christine (Roger) Johnston; nephews, Andy (Marilyn) McGaffin and Doug (Cindy) Foster; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles "Chuck" Foster.
