Anne J. Pierce, 89, of South Sioux City, died Monday, June 7, 1999, at a Sioux City hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Charles Horkey of Hope Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 8:30 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m., at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux.

Anne Pierce was born Dec. 25, 1909, in Gregory, S.D., the daughter of Christ and Clara (Olbue) Danielson.

She was raised in South Dakota and graduated from high school. She formerly lived in Sioux City and was a longtime resident of South Sioux City.

She retired from Johnson Biscuit Company.

She was a member of Hope

Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary Guild and was a former member of the South Sioux City Eagles.

Survivors include a son, Jack and his wife, Mary, of Dakota City; a daughter, Jeanette Meyer of Mt Vernon, IL; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Benton; five brothers, Harold, Oscar, Dennis, Leonold and Clifton; and two sister, Esther Lowe and Tena Aeck.

Pallbearearers will be Corey, Randy, and Mychal Pierce, Chad and Joe Riker, Robert J. Stowe and Craig Pierce.
