24 October 2014SIOUX CITY | Charlotte Melland, 93, formerly of Sioux City died Oct. 21, 2014, at Vitas Hospice in Kansas City, Mo. For 13 years, she had been a resident of John Knox Village and, more recently, Valley View Residential Care, where she made many friends.
Burial of her cremains will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City.
Survivors include daughter, Linnea (Ken) of rural Jackson County, Mo.; son, Michael (Kate) Melland of Oakland, Calif.; grandson, Chris (Paula) Korinek of Incline Village, Nev.; and nephew, Curtis (Jane) of Antioch, Calif., and Kathy, Travis, Nicole, Todd, and Tolen.
Her husband, Milton Melland, a career Air Force officer, died in 1987.
The family thanks the Valley View staff for loving care over the past three years and the Vitas staff for a warm and compassionate sanctuary after her final fall.
Donations may be made to Our Lady of the Presentation church in Lee’s Summit, Mo
