PONCA, Neb. -- Margaret M. Anderson, 78, of Ponca passed away Monday, March 10, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Salem Lutheran Church in Ponca, with the Rev. Neal Anthony officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. today at Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

Margaret was born Oct. 17, 1929, in Minneapolis, to Michael and Wilhelmine (Paulsen) Schmit. She grew up in rural Pender, Neb, where she attended country school.

She married Leonard Anderson on May 3, 1975, at Salem Lutheran Church in Dakota City. She worked in the Sioux City and South Sioux City area all her life.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Ponca, the Dixota Wranglers Saddle Club and she bowled on a league in South Sioux City. She enjoyed horses and bowling and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan.

Survivors include brothers-in-law, Kenneth Anderson of Allen, Neb., and Warren Anderson of Laurel, Neb.; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Milo and Mary Lou Anderson of Ponca; sisters-in-law, Jenette Anderson and Ponca and Betty Anderson of Palmyra, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; a sister, Pauline Hirsch and her husband, Ed; four sisters-in-law; and three brothers-in-law
