SIOUX CITY | Elaine Jo "Tootie" Menefee, 74, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, at her residence.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, with the Rev. Russell Senstad officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Tootie was born on Oct. 1, 1939, in Sioux City, the daughter of Edward and Leona (DeVaul) Sandvold, and graduated from East High School.

Tootie had been formerly married to James Heck, David Bell and Warren Menefee. For many years, she was a bartender at various Sioux City establishments, as well as being a homemaker. In her later years, she worked at Long John Silver’s. She loved it there and worked until retirement.

In her free time, Tootie enjoyed playing pool, bowling, darts, traveling, board game parties, swimming and enjoying the sun. Tootie was also a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her children, Debbie Heck of Aurora, Colo., Kim Schonrock of Sioux City, Mark Heck of Sioux City, Lisa (Fernando) Terriquez of Sioux City, Paula (Dan Parsley) Heck of Sioux City, and Sarah (Tony Liston) Bell of McCook Lake, S.D.; 17 grandchildren, Brock, Levi, Genelle, Manda, Heather, Nate, Heidi, Jeremy, Mike, Sarah, Trevor, Brittany, Hannah, Lathan, Shelby, Taylaor, and Anthony; 22 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Linda Esterling of Omaha.

Tootie was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Leona; and brothers, Roger and Allen.
