ANTHON, Iowa — Mrs. S. R. "Bert" Haddock, 69, Cheyenne, Wyo., formerly of Anthon, died Tuesday in a hospital at Cheyenne.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Billy Sunday Tabernacle in Sioux City. The Rev. Keith Habegger will officiate. Burial will be in the Bethel Piero Cemetery near Anthon. The body is to arrive at the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton.
Mrs. Haddock, the former Bessie Curtright, was born Nov. 2, 1909, at Newkirk, Okla. She moved with her parents as a young girl to Leon, Iowa.
She was married May 5, 1934. Shortly after marriage they moved to the Smithland area where they farmed. From 1944 until 1972 they farmed in the Climbing Hill and Anthon area. In 1972, they moved to Benson, Ariz. where Mr. Haddock died in 1973. She moved to Cheyenne in June of 1978.
She was a member of the Billy Sunday Tabernacle and a 25 year 4-H leader with the Willing Granters of Grant Township. She worked in Grant Township on various charity drives.
Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Lucy Curtright of Cheyenne; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Alma) Timmer of Jackson, Minn., Mrs. Leland (Irene) Lantz of Moorhead and Mrs. David (Maxine) Benson of Victoria, B.C.; two sons, Earl of Anthon and Gerald of Oroville, Calif.; three brothers, Raymond and Albert, both of Cheyenne and Carl of Laramie, Wyo.; one sister, Mrs.Iola Underwood of Cheyenne and 13 grandchildren.
