David South, 68, Cornelia apartments, 8241 Fourth street, died Friday at a hospital after a long illness.

Mr. South was born July 5, 1877, at Hamburg, Ia. He came to Sioux City 37 years ago. He had been employed by the Walensky Lumber company and more recently at the Grand bowling alley. His wife, Grace, died in 1933. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Carter and Mrs. Violet Johnson, both of Sioux City; a son, Harry L. of Sioux City; two brothers, Hiram of Hamburg, and John of Vermillion, S. D.; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Andrews, Mrs. Martha Chaney, Mrs. Sarah Chapman, and Mrs. Cynthia Headley, all of Hamburg, and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 3:30 p. m. Monday in the Nelson-Berger chapel. Rev. George Dunn will officiate. The body will be taken Tuesday morning to Hamburg for burial.
