29 December 2003Verna V. Hall, 92, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at Mercy Hallmar Care Center in Cedar Rapids as a result of complications from a stroke.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Spaulding of Morningside Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Verna Hall was born Jan. 29, 1911, in Sioux City, the daughter of Charles O. and Emma (Anderson) Pearson. She was a graduate of Central High School in Sioux City.
She married Robert H. Hall on Feb. 16, 1951, in Sioux City. Robert preceded Verna in death on April 8, 1983, in Sioux City. Verna had resided in Sioux City until moving to Cedar Rapids when she was in her 80s.
She was a former member of Morningside Lutheran Church. She was previously a longtime member of Augustana Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Connie Kennedy and her husband, Jim of Cedar Rapids; and two grandsons, Robert O. Kennedy and David A. Kennedy, both of Cedar Rapids.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Carl Pearson; and a sister, Florence Kirchner
