James J. Broderick, 83, of Sioux City, formerly of Homewood, Ill., died Saturday, March 9, 2002.
Services will be at a later date. The body was cremated. Christy-Smith. Morningside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Broderick was born Dec. 2, 1918, in Chicago. He was a lifelong Homewood resident, He worked as a salesman for Bulkmatic Trucking in Illinois. He married Esther Reed in September 1945. She died in January 2002. He attended school in Illinois.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Homewood.

Survivors include two grandsons, Erin and Jeff Rehan, both of Sioux City; a son-in-law, Dennis Rehan of Sioux City; and nieces, nephews. other relatives and friends.

He also was preceded in death his parents; a daughter, Beverly Rehan; and two brothers.
