Kenneth F. Coles, 87, of Lawton, IA, died Monday, March 4, 2002 at Char Mac Assisted Living following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, March 6, 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Moville with Rev. Harold Werley officiating, Private family graveside followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City under direction of Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel.

Kenneth F, Coles was born April 21, 1914 to George and Jennie (Holman) Coles in Wagner, SD. He attended grade school in Wagner. He married Tillie Rittel on September 16, 1935, in Wagner. They lived in the Wagner area until they moved to Kingsley, IA in 1941. They owned and operated a produce business in Kingsley until 1953 when they moved to Moville, IA. Ken worked for the town of Moville for several years. In 1973, they moved to Sioux City where he was a maintenance engineer at Sunrise Manor until he retired in 1978. Mrs. Coles died December 23, 1979. In 1987 he moved to Anthon until moving to Char Mac in 2001.

He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing and bird watching.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Wyndham and Darlene French of Moville; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter and her husband, Donna and Bob Long, his parents, one sister and two brothers.
