Anna Marie (Zurn) Claus passed away at home on November 12, 2002, after a long illness.

She was born in Danbury, Iowa, to Louis and Mary Zurn on December 26,1929. Anna moved to Washington State when she was 18. The next year she moved to Bellingham where she met and married Alson Claus on May 2, 1949 at Church of the Assumption.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her sisters Betty Schleimer of Iowa and Agnes Chedester¬Fleury of Seattle, and two infant children.

Anna is survived by her husband of 53 years, Alson Claus of the family home; daughters Susan and her husband Keith Rodenberger, and Catherine and her husband Kenneth Visser; two grandchildren. Kyle and Kelly Rodenberger all of Bellingham; her sisters, Louise Gaswint of Sioux City, Leona Randall of Bellingham, Marge Grable of Buffalo City, Wisconsin and numerous nieces and nephews.

A vigil service was held at Westford Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, November 20, 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bellingham.
