SIOUX CITY -- Jacquetta H. "Jackie" Wood, 100, formerly of Sioux City peacefully went home to the Lord Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, in San Diego, Calif.

Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Church of Christ in Sioux City. Private family graveside services will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.

Jackie was born May 16, 1909, to Charles and Anna (Flom) Norris, near Rush City, Minn., on the banks of the St. Croix River.

In 1928, she married Glen W. Wood and lived with him in the Midwest for 46 years, including 27 years as a resident of Sioux City. They then relocated to Phoenix, Ariz. Glen passed away in 1976. In 1988, she moved to San Diego, Calif.

Our memories will always be of a loving wife, mother and friend. She was full of fun and energy and had a strong faith in Christ.

Survivors include five children, Glen of Mission, Texas, Jim (Colleen) of Littleton, Colo., Gene (Judy) of Tekoa, Wash., Elaine (Ron) Stone of San Diego, Calif., and Gayle (Darrell) Snyder of Lincoln, Neb.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
