SIOUX CITY | Randall Alvin "Randy" Meyer, 65, of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Sioux City, passed away June 18, 2013, at his residence.

Memorial services will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Leeds Legion Hall, 3901 Floyd Blvd., in Sioux City.

Randy was born on May 19, 1948, in Cherokee, the son of Otto and Violet (Thompson) Meyer. He had lived in Sioux City. He served in the Armed Forces for nine years.

Survivors include his brothers, Dave and Kathy Meyer of Salix, Iowa, Jim Maffit of Sioux City, and Gene and Sherrie Maffit of South Sioux City; his sisters, Karen and Roger Dempster of Le Mars, Iowa, and Sue and TJ Hughes of Sioux City; many nieces and nephews; and his caregiver and special friend, her two sons, daughter and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; and three brothers.
