18 November 2009SIOUX CITY -- Virginia Faye White, 85, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, in Lincoln following a brief battle with cancer.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Wyuka Funeral Home in Lincoln. Burial will be in Wyuka Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Virginia was born Sept. 29, 1924, in Bancroft, Neb., to the late Harry and Beulah (Hartline) Carle. She attended Woodrow Wilson Junior High and Central High School in Sioux City.
She married Richard White in 1943. She was married for nine years with three children. She was formerly of South Sioux City and Denver Colo., before settling in Lincoln in 1989. Her primary occupation over the years was a waitress.
She is survived by her sister, Gretchen Gedwillo of Lincoln; a brother, Harry "Bud" Carle of Santee, Calif.; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Marty White of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ronald and Cindy White of Thornton, Colo.; a daughter, Cindy Kramer of Lincoln; 11 grandchildren, Trevor, Tracie, Lisa, Rick, Ruby, Gary Wayne, Kelli, Chad, Kim, Darren and Bryan; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; and sisters, Priscilla Hahn, Mary Lou Anderson and Carolee Carle.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
