26 July 2006Anthony J. "Tony" Grego, 82, of Sioux City died Monday, July 24, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital.
The body was cremated. There will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Tony was born June 16, 1924, in Sioux City, the son of Patrick and Pasqulina Grego. He grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City Schools.
He married Marion Underberg on June 18, 1950.
He worked for Armour and Co. and Nutra-Flo, and retired from MidAmerican Energy in 1984.
Tony served as coach for little league for many years and was president for Sioux City Kids and Youth Baseball.
He is survived by his wife, Marion Grego of Sioux City; a daughter, Kip Lennon and her husband, John, of Sioux City; two sons, Ted Grego of Glencoe, Minn., and James Grego of Macedon, N.Y.; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Opheim of Wichita, Kan., Doris Underberg of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Jean Grego of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Carl and Pat.
