Phyllis Jane Sheets, 87, of Sioux City died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at Casa De Paz Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

There will be no services. The body was cremated. There will be no visitation. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Phyllis Jane Sheets was born Aug. 30, 1916, in Bronson, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Elizabeth (Edwards) Harrison. She was raised in Lawton, Iowa.

She married John Sheets on Oct. 9, 1937, in Sioux City. Mr. Sheets died July 2, 1998, in Sioux City.

Mrs. Sheets worked at an aircraft manufacturing company in California during World War II and worked at an aircraft factory in Omaha, Neb. She also worked at Joe Gantz Steak House until its closing.

Survivors include a son-in-law and his wife, Mike and Linda O'Connor of Sioux City; a brother, Darrell Harrison of Austin, Texas, and a granddaughter, Misty Hannah of Springfield, Ill.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Deb Foster; and one brother, Clair Harrison.
