15 June 2005LAWTON, Iowa -- Elsie Emma Harrison, 96, of Lawton died Monday, June 13, 2005, at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lawton. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rohde-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley, Iowa.
Elsie was born Aug. 12, 1908, in Miles Center, Ill., the daughter of Fred and Sophia (Junno) Meyers. As a young child, her family moved to the Lawton area, where she grew up.
She married Carl Harrison in 1925. Carl died unexpectedly in 1933. In 1943, she married Willard Harrison. After their marriage, the couple lived in the Lawton area. Willard died 1969.
She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed making quilts, loved playing bingo and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Garry Harrison and his wife, Kathy of Lincoln, Neb., Susan and her husband, Phillip Gregg of Lawton and Terry Harrison of Sioux City; six great-grandchildren, Bill, Cindy, Sarah and her fiance, Chris, Tom, John and his wife, Kayla, and Scott; four great-great-grandchildren, Levi, Samantha, Aria and Alex; two sisters, Rose Williams of Merrill, Iowa, and LaVonne Harrison of Tendoy, Idaho; and a daughter-in-law, Geraldine Harrison of Lawton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Carl and Willard; two sons, Darrel and Dwaine; a brother, William Meyers; and three sisters, Marie Eickolt, Dorothy Beach and Sophie Vondrak.
