SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Neil C. "Casey" Casey, 82, of South Sioux City died Monday, March 27, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, with Chaplain Lorna Peters officiating. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Banner Township Cemetery, Lawton, Iowa. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Casey was born Feb. 14, 1924, in Gaza, Iowa, the son of Carroll and Blanche F. (St. John) Casey. He attended Central High School in Sioux City. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, being honorably discharged Dec. 8, 1945.

He married Anita Anderson on Dec. 12, 1946, in Omaha. She died Aug. 13, 1977, in Sioux City. He then married Rosalia "Rosie" Kilberg on Dec. 21, 1979, in Lawton, Iowa.

He was a route salesman for Wonder Bread Bakery from 1951 until his retirement in 1981. He only missed one day of work in 30 years of his employment.

He enjoyed spending time fishing at the "Up North Cabin" in Round Lake, Minn. He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton, the American Legion Post 718 in Lawton and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in South Sioux City.

Survivors include his wife, Rosie; a son, Jeffrey Casey of Collinsville, Ill.; three daughters, Cheryl and her husband, Charles Vakulskas of Sioux City, Connie and her husband, Scott Rygh of Rocklin, Calif., and Tammy Wright of Canton, S.D. and her fiance, Kevin Fischer of Worthing, S.D.; two stepdaughters, Debbie Lee and her friend, Rodney Bursick of Sioux City and Susie and her husband, Shane Rol of Sioux City; seven grandchildren, Wendy Gehling, Amy Gerharter, Scott Vakulskas, Jack and Lauren Rygh, Kayla and Todd Wright; four stepgrandchildren, Mark and Mike Lee and Shane and Alex Rol; two great-grandchildren, Maggie and Casey Gehling; and four great-stepgrandchildren, Madison, Jenna and Jake Lee and Brittni Strom.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dale; a sister, Donna Casey; and a stepson, Bobby Kilberg.

Pallbearers will be Scott and Chuck Vakulskas, Todd Wright, Justin Gerharter, Kevin Fischer and Randy Gehling.
