Russell V. Grau, 78, of Sioux City died Friday June 26, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel with the Rev. Donohue Sarff, pastor of Morningside Lutheran Church officiating. Burial with military graveside services provided by American Legion Post #1981 will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Grau was born April 17, 1920, in Ireton, Iowa, the son of Vernon and Lola (Lean) Grau. He married Marjorie H. Rembe Oct. 21, 1939 in Le Mars, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed at Knoepfler Chevrolet for 37 years and was the service manager there until his retirement. He was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Thomas and Susie Grau of South Sioux City, and Scott and Jacquelyn Grau of Davey, Neb.; a daughter and her husband, Connie and Stanley Eriksen of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren, Doug, Eric, Matthew, David, Dustin, Danielle, Rachelle, Eric, Bryan, Richard and Nation; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a sister; and a brother.

Pallbearers will be Eric and Bryan Eriksen, Doug, Eric, Matthew, and Dustin Grau, and Richard Cooper.
