SIOUX CITY | Catherine (Micelotti) Marino-Tramontina, 94, of Sioux City died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.

A private celebration of life will be held locally. Catherine will later be buried in Scottsdale, Ariz., at the request of her children. Arrangements are being handled by Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel

Catherine was born July 21, 1918, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Salvatore Micelotti and Mary Mauro. She married Louis Marino on Nov. 27, 1936. Mr. Marino died Oct. 11, 1984, in Phoenix, Ariz. She married Alvin Tramontina in Miami, Okla., on March 2, 1989. Mr. Tramontina died Dec. 16, 2012, in Sioux City.

Catherine had lived in Philadelphia, Pa., Milford, Mass., Scottsdale, Ariz., Rio Rancho, N.M., Springfield, Ill., and Sioux City. Catherine attended the Holy Spirit Retirement Home Chapel with Father Dennis Meinen, chaplain

Catherine was an avid gardener, with a natural green thumb for rooting African violets and growing beautiful flowers and vegetables. She spent many hours sewing clothing for her three daughters. She loved to knit, crochet, cross-stitch and work on crossword puzzles.

Survivors include two daughters, Marcella Dupuis and Linda Cordani, both of Phoenix; six stepchildren, Michael Tramontina (Margi Weiss) of Des Moines, Iowa, Mark Tramontina (Peggy) of Sioux City, Toney Tramontina (Cathie) of Albuquerque, N.M., Linda Messenger (John) of Grayslake, Ill., Gina Weiland (Tom) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Alvin Tramontina Jr. (Jody) of Des Moines; nine grandchildren, including her namesake, Cathy Lillyman (Chris) of Massachusetts; 11 stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-stepgrandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Louis Marino and Alvin Tramontina; daughter, Catherine Dufresne Barry; numerous brothers and sisters; and a son-in-law.

Memorials may be directed to Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City, and Hospice of Siouxland, Sioux City.
