SIOUX CITY | Blanche D. Hodapp, 97, of Sioux City, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Sunrise Retirement Community after a short illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.

Blanche was born Dec. 22, 1915, in Goeway Township, Osceola County, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Marie (Foisey) Hoffman. She grew up in Osceola County.

She married Herman L. Hodapp on March 21, 1944, in Sanborn, Iowa. Shortly after their marriage, the couple made their home in Sioux City. Her husband died July 2, 2001, in Sioux City.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Altar Society. Blanche was a volunteer at the Bargain Center for nearly 30 years.

Survivors include a son, Steve (Mary) Hodapp of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Susan (Dan) Bennett of Sioux City; a brother, Richard (Lena) Hoffman of Marshalltown, Iowa; six grandchildren, Stacey (Brooks) Jenkins of Lansing, Kan., Joshua (Brandi) Hodapp of Olathe, Kan., Stephanie (Randy) Dillon of Raymore, Mo., Sarah Hodapp of Olathe, Michelle (Christian) Mogensen of Rochester, Minn., and Matthew Bennett of Sioux City; and six great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Clarence Hoffman, Frank Hoffman and George Hoffman; and a sister, Cleo Braun.
