SIOUX CITY | Conrad "Connie" Lee Seaton, 83, of San Jacinto, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at his home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Ralph Shorey, pastor, officiating. Cremation will follow services. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, with family present at 5 p.m., at the funeral home.

Connie was born March 12, 1929, in Moorhead, Iowa, to Wilbur and Ruth (Lister) Seaton. He received his education in the Mapleton, Iowa, area before helping his father on the farm.

Connie moved to Sioux City at age 18 and began his career in the dry cleaning and laundry industry.

He married Dora Bata. They had two children, Jack and Connie Marie. Connie lost his first wife to an early death.

He married Theresa Silvas on Nov. 9, 1957, in Elk Point, S.D. They had three girls: Sonja, Romi and Daniela.

Connie continued to grow his dry cleaning business. He won an equal opportunity award from the Sioux City Chamber Of Commerce. After 42 years of service, he retired in 1998 from American Mastercraft Cleaners in Sioux City. Following his retirement, Connie and Theresa relocated to California.

He was a past member of Concordia Lutheran Church and Faith Lutheran Church in Sioux City. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hemet, Calif. Connie was a member of the Moose Lodge in San Jacinto. He was past president of the Sioux City Eagles Club, where he enjoyed cooking and running the bingo games.

Conrad enjoyed fishing, camping and golfing, all of which he included his family. Connie enjoyed dancing, playing tennis, and watching and driving in stock car races. He was an avid bowler, and has countless bowling trophies. Connie was proud to coach and umpire Concordia Lutheran Church's slow-pitch softball team.

While in California, Connie enjoyed retirement by building his home outside San Jacinto in the foothills of the mountains. He stayed busy with gardening and constant home improvement projects.

Connie is survived by his wife, Theresa Seaton of California; sons, Jack Seaton of Wisner, Neb., and Rick Seaton of California; daughters, Connie Marie Wolfe of Heron, S.D., Sonja (Tom) Wyant of Mapleton, Iowa, Romi Pettersson (special friend Brian Davis) of Sioux City and Daniela Doenhofer (fiance Bob Gant) of Sioux City; extended family, Kevin and Deb Montgomery of Indianola, Iowa; a brother, Butch (Nancy) Seaton of Kansas City, Mo.; sisters, Beverly Summerlin of Sioux City and Sharon (Rodney) Johnson of New Mexico; a son-in-law, Scott Pettersson of Sioux City; 26 grandchildren; and 78 great-grandchildren.

Connie was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dora; brothers, Keith and Curtis Seaton; and a sister, Darlene Wilde.
