SIOUX CITY -- Madeline Colleen "Maggie" Coughlin, 60, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at her home

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at Mayflower Congregational Church, 1407 W. 18th Street, in Sioux City. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Madeline was born Sept. 27, 1951, in Grand Island, Neb., the daughter of Chester and Colleen (Fulton) Jarzynka. She was raised in Grand Island and graduated from the Grand Island High School.

She came to Sioux City in the late 1970s to be with John Coughlin and they were married on June 6, 1983, in Elk Point S.D. She had worked as a bookkeeper for K-Mart in Grand Island and later at the Westwood Nursing Home in Sioux City.

She spent most of her time caring for her family and what she loved most was spending time with her grandchildren, doing crafts with them, teaching them and always supporting them in what they did.

She is survived by her husband, John of Sioux City; two sons, John and Melissa Coughlin of Sioux City, and Jay and Jennifer Messer of Sioux City; her grandchildren, John Jr., Heaven, Destiny, Howie, Noah, Lucia, Zaria, Reagan, and Zane Coughlin, and Veronica Kopple; her sister, Lynnett; a brother and his wife, Mark and Jane; her mother, Colleen Jarzynka; a niece and nephew, Aubrey and Connor Sulsberger; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; mother-in-law, Dorothy Coughlin; and two grandsons, Moses and Micheal.
