SIOUX CITY -- Clarence Reynolds Jr., 64, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital, after a battle with cancer.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Black Hawk Community Center in Winnebago, Neb., with Louie Houghton officiating. Burial will be in Winnebago Cemetery, with military rites conducted. Visitation will be 4 p.m. today, beginning with a wake service, and will continue until time of service Monday, at the Black Hawk Community Center.

Clarence was born April 26, 1947, in Sioux City, to Clarence Sr. and Virginia (Sharpback) Reynolds. He graduated from Central High School in 1967 and then attended DMACC in Des Moines, where he received a certificate in heavy machinery. He joined the U.S. Marines in 1968, serving in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1970, receiving the Purple Heart among other awards.

He married Rita Marie Dick on Aug. 7, 1970; they later divorced. In his early years, he worked in construction and carpentry. He later worked as a roofer for several area roofing companies, through the Local 232 Union as a journeyman.

Survivors include his former wife, Rita Reynolds of Sioux City; children, Tyrone Reynolds, Troy Reynolds Sr., Trent Reynolds, Tornell Reynolds and Tara Reynolds, all of Sioux City; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his loving siblings; and many wonderful family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Virginia Reynolds; an aunt, Mae Houghton; a niece, Shirelle Reynolds; and three uncles.

Pallbearers will be Troy Reynolds Jr., Tre Reynolds, Trice Reynolds, Tyrone Reynolds, Todd Reynolds and Sam Homan.
