SIOUX CITY | Lois L. Reilly, 97, of Cape Coral, Fla., formerly of Sioux City, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2012, surrounded by family members in her home following a brief illness.

She was born April 16, 1915, in Sioux City, a child of Michael and Clara (Hansen) Gebhardt. Lois lived most of her life in Sioux City, where she enjoyed a successful career with the Sioux City School District and later worked many years in the insurance business. She relocated to Cape Coral in 1989 and continued working until she finally retired at age 89.

Lifelong friendships were made as she was a devoted friend to many in both communities. A cherished light has passed from the world with her death. Her quick wit, sincerity and kindness will be missed by all.

The wife of the late Thomas Reilly, she is survived by her two daughters, Coni Brown of Tampa, Fla., and Kathleen Reilly of Cape Coral, Fla.; her granddaughter, Renee (Rod) Allbee of Des Moines, Iowa; and brother, Howard M. Gebhardt of Sioux City.
