SIOUX CITY | Scott Lee Draisey, 48, of Sioux City passed away Jan. 25, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his family after a courageous one-year battle with lymphoma.

A celebration of life service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Larkin Chapel Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Scott was born on July 5, 1964, in Sioux City, the son of Robert Burton and Elizabeth Ann (Jensen) Draisey. Scott graduated from North High School in 1983.

He married Tamera Crichton on June 11, 2010 in Sioux City after a 14-year engagement. Scott was employed with Jansen Lawn Care, Wal-Mart, Aalfs Manufacturing and Bomgaars.

He loved being outside and working with his hands. He and Tami took the kids camping and spent time at the family cabin at Spirit Lake, Iowa. Scott also loved to build fires and would stay up all night sitting outside by the fire. He would also help anyone who needed help fixing or working on stuff.

Survivors include his wife, Tamera Draisey of Sioux City; daughters, Sara Draisey Stodden of Cherokee, Iowa, and Mary "Mjay" Brassilio of Sioux City; sons, Steven Draisey of Cherokee, and Henry "Jamie" Brassilio of Wayne, Neb.; grandchildren, Elyiah Watkins and Christopher Wagner; parents, Robert and Elizabeth Draisey of Sioux City; a sister, Amy and Mark Augustine of Le Mars, Iowa; nieces, Kayla and Nevaeh; nephews, Jake, Lucas, Tycen and Brogan; mother-in-law, Mary Ellen Crichton; sisters-in-law, Teresa and Bill Gotto and Tricia Crichton and Odyssei; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; a grandson, William Scott Brassilio; and father-in-law, James Crichton.
