SIOUX CITY -- Irene M. LeMoine, 80, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Henry Witte officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Irene was born May 5, 1931, in Sioux City, the daughter of Benjimin E. and Clara B. (Klanderud) Bixby.

She married Merlan H. LeMoine on April 22, 1949, in South Sioux City. Irene loved to sew, garden, crochet, embroider and cook. She was a wonderful wife and mother and loved to spend time with the grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Merlan; two sons, Gary and wife, Barb LeMoine of Bellevue, Neb., and Mike and wife, Mary LeMoine of Virginia Beach, Va.; two daughters, Mickie and husband, Ed John of Blairsville, Ga., and Diane and husband, Jim Worley of Sioux City; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Elmer Bixby of Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rose; and a brother, William.

Pallbearers will be Tony John, Erik LeMoine, Jason LeMoine, Kevin Thompson, Larry Stroman and Bruce Stroman.

Memorials may be given to the June E. Nylen Cancer Center or Hospice of Siouxland
