ANTHON, Iowa -- Fred Kvidera, 84, of Huber Heights, Ohio, formerly of Anthon, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at his residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon. Burial will be in Mount St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the American Legion McNiff Post 389 of Anthon. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

He was a retired master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, with 20 years of service. He retired from Grandview Hospital after 21 years of service.

He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the Secular Order of St. Franciscan.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Marie A. Guinn of Kettering, Ohio, and Joanie L. and Ken Arndts of Tennessee; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey A. and Angela Kvidera of West Carrollton, Ohio; sisters, Ann Dunn and Catherine Neiman; brothers, Vince, Joe, Bernard and Dennis Kvidera; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, in 1992.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church food pantry in Fred's memory.
