SIOUX CITY | Mary Lou Davis, 83, of Osmond, Neb., formerly of Sioux City and Bronson, Iowa, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at her home.

A private family service will be held. Inurnment will be at the Westfork Cemetery, in Climbing Hill, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Stonacek Memorial Chapel in Osmond, Neb.

Mary Lou was born Dec. 17, 1929, to Lester Leslie Scott and Jessie (Spencer) Scott in Bronson, Iowa. She attended school at Bronson through eighth grade and graduated from Sioux City East High School in 1948. After high school she worked at the Livestock National Bank in Sioux City.

She married Lyle K. Davis June 12, 1949, at Sergeant Bluff. She was a homemaker, and later worked at Sioux City Health Department for the Homemaker Department, while her husband worked as a meat cutter. The couple owned and operated the Locker plant at Crofton, Neb., 1972-1980. Later years, the couple managed mobile home parks in California. They retired to Branson, Mo.; moving back to Osmond in June 2007 to be closer to family.

Mary Lou was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include four sons, Gary Davis of Portland, Ore., Donald and his wife Sharon, of Salina, Kan., Ronald and his wife Judy, of Dallas, S.D., and Craig and his wife Paula, of Plainview, Neb.; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Darlene Maloney of Grand Cane, La., Bonnie Arnswald of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lillian and her husband Arvid Ellingson of West Fargo, N.D.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lyle, Jan. 3, 2012; one brother; three sisters; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Gary (Judy) Davis; and one grandson, Brandon Davis.
